HP Contractual LaserJet Toner Cartridge Strategy

HP is focused on delivering a broad set of solutions designed to meet the varying needs of our customers. Specific to its contractual customers, HP is providing selected Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges in a different package with a different SKU number ending in “AC” or “XC”. The HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges can be identified by plain white packaging showing the HP logo, the reorder product number, the compatible printer models, and the same HP security labels used for Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges sold at retail.

HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges have been provided to HP’s contractual customers in both Managed Print Services (MPS) and Channel-led Managed Print Services (OPS) engagement since early 2010. From 1 September 2011, HP is expanding this availability to include contractual customers under the Enterprise Supplies Program (ESP) and Strategic Supplies Program (SSP) in the Asia Pacific region. This currently applies only to the following cartridge SKUs:

A: HP and HP's channel partners offer Managed Print Services (MPS) and Channel-led Managed Print Services (OPS) solutions that provide proactive; end-to-end management of a customer's imaging and printing needs from a single, globally trusted partner. Through MPS & OPS, starting with an assessment, customers can optimise their imaging and printing infrastructure, control assets and costs, and improve document workflow.

What is an Enterprise Supplies Program (ESP) or Strategic Supplies Program (SSP) contract?

HP and HP's channel partners offer business customers the choice to engage in an ESP or SSP contract. Such contracts allows business customers to optimise their printing cost by agreeing to purchase Original HP supplies for a specified period of time in return for a volume discount. Customers operating under such a volume discount supplies contract have been receiving standard Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges. From 1 Sep 2011, they will start receiving the HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges for the seven SKUs listed above. For all other SKUs, they will continue to receive the Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges.

Starting in 2009, HP refreshed its branding with a new packaging design. Customers will likely see both the old blue-boxed and current black and white-boxed design on several HP Contractual LaserJet toner cartridges until inventories of the old brand design are depleted.

Yes, the same recycling program is in place for HP Contractual LaserJet cartridges as for standard Original HP cartridges. Customers can either use the recycling guide that is in the box or go to their country's HP website to print a return label (subject to each country's participation in the program).
