| Q: |
Is my network printer JetDirect EIO card compatible? |
| A: |
In order to access the 'Order Supplies' link located on your printer's Embedded Web Server home page, you must have a JetDirect 615n (or higher) EIO card installed in that printer. Older cards prohibit access to the printer's EWS by intercepting HTTP requests and redirecting them to the EIO card's internal Web configuration service. To upgrade your JetDirect EIO card, contact your preferred reseller or purchase direct from HP. |

| Q: |
Will I have to install a new printer driver to use SureSupply on my direct-connected printer? |
| A: |
It depends on the type of printer you are using. Many newer direct-connected HP printers have SureSupply built into their installation software and many older models can easily be configured for SureSupply functionality. |

|
| Q: |
Why are there different solutions for network- and direct-connected printers? |
| A: |
The Embedded Web Server (EWS) is currently available in network-connected versions of newer HP LaserJet, color LaserJet, and business inkjet printers. Legacy printers do not have this technology. Two SureSupply solutions are necessary to use differing capabilities of different print devices. In network-connected printers, SureSupply alert functionality is controlled by the EWS. Some newer direct-connected printers require no additional drivers; many direct-connected and legacy printers, however, are given SureSupply functionality through an extension to their printer driver. |

| Q: |
How do I install SureSupply over multiple network printers at one time? |
| A: |
HP has developed an application called ResellerLink Network Configuration Tool to assist you in setting up SureSupply. ResellerLink is a self-guided SureSupply set-up tool enabling users to locate, setup and associate their compatible printers with SureSupply and their reseller of choice. It simplifies the installation process across multiple printers and designates who on the network receives the alert — making your job easier. | Q: |
What happens if customers use a remanufactured or non-HP Smart Print cartridge with an HP printer? |
| A: |
HP recommends using only HP print cartridges with HP printers. HP designs its printers and supplies to work together as a system to always create clear, sharp images. Users who have remanufactured cartridges in their printers will still be able to purchase HP print cartridges via the SureSupply process. However, they may not receive the "supplies low" alerts in some cases with some printer configurations, because a smart chip built into HP print cartridges generates the alert. Use of non-HP cartridges in an HP printer may result in the loss of some printer functions, or may yield different print quality. |

| Q: |
Will cartridges that work with SureSupply-enabled printers cost more than previous HP print cartridges? |
| A: |
No. HP is constantly striving to enhance the total printing experience for the customer — for the same price you are used to paying. |
