The Presence of Fraud

Imitation isn't always the sincerest form of flattery. Unfortunately, there are fraudulent cartridges that are made and packaged to look like HP products. Not only is this illegal, it raises obvious questions about the print quality and reliability you receive.

  • Beware of print cartridges sold without HP packaging. HP products are never sold without it.
  • Check for the genuine HP security seal on the cartridge packaging.
  • If it's been remanufactured, it's not HP. For consistently high quality, HP always recycles print cartridges. And always ask, because many remanufactured products are not labelled.
  • Read contracts carefully to ensure suppliers can't substitute a generic cartridge for an HP-branded one.
